Arabic vocabulary
How to say “everlasting” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فقراء المهاجرين أتوا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقالوا ذهب أهل الدثور بالدرجات العلى، والنعيم المقيم
The poor among the emigrants came to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and said: 'The wealthy have taken the highest ranks and everlasting blessings.'
الْمُقِيمِ — everlasting. This adjective trails 'bliss' — 'abiding / everlasting' — an active participle ('that which stays'). It agrees with its noun in the genitive. So the bliss they took is the lasting kind.
