How to say “examples” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
مَا صَدَّقَ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا إِلَّا صَنَعَ لَهُ وَأَمْثَالُ هَذَا كَثِيرٌ
God does not make any servant truthful except that He does good for him.
وأمثال — and examples. This token fronts the wa- 'and', which here breaks off the proverb and starts a closing remark. The noun behind it is a plural, 'examples/likenesses', and it becomes the topic of a short follow-up statement. The wa- signals a new sentence rather than continuing the previous clause.
