How to say “field” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قال نعم يا سيدي، ناقته دخلت حائطي وأكلت زرعي، فحبستها حتى يأتي صاحبها
He replied: Yes, my lord, his camel entered my field and ate my crops, so I detained it until its owner comes.
حَائِطِي — my field. This is 'wall, enclosure, field' with the attached 'my', forming a possessive, the field belonging to the speaker. It is the object of 'entered', the place the camel went into. The suffix marks the field as the neighbor's own.
