وَمَنْ سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَلْتَمِسُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَهَّلَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهِ طَرِيقًا إلَى الْجَنَّةِ،
And whoever follows a path seeking knowledge, Allah will make a path to Paradise easy for him through it.
سَلَكَ — he followed. A past verb, 'tread, travel along', subject 'he' inside, the condition's verb. It takes its object directly, the path walked.
From: Easing a Believer's Hardship →وهم أصحاب اليمين الذين آمنوا بالله وصدقوا المرسلين وسلكوا غير سبيل المجرمين
And they are the companions of the right hand who believed in God and confirmed the messengers and followed paths other than those of the criminals.
وَسَلَكُوا — and followed. The wa- adds a third verb, a past-tense form meaning 'and they trod' a path, with a built-in plural subject. Coordinated with the others, it continues the description; the verb governs the path-noun that follows as its object.
