Arabic vocabulary
بِصَلَاةِ is how you say “in the prayer” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
قَالَ فَجَعَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي وَهُوَ يَأْتَمُّ بِصَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
He said: Abu Bakr then led the prayer while following the Prophet's prayer.
بِصَلَاةِ — in the prayer. The bi- prefix is a preposition, here 'by/following', governing the genitive; its noun is also the front term of a 'prayer of' pairing with the next word. It links the following to the Prophet's prayer.
