فَإِذا طَابَ الْملك طابت جُنُوده وَإِذا خبث خبثت جُنُوده
If the king is sound, the soldiers are sound, and if it is corrupt, the soldiers are corrupt.
خَبُثَ — is corrupt. Past-form verb, 'it becomes foul', the trigger of this second condition, with its subject 'the king/heart' understood from context. Verb-first order again.
