How to say “it is heard” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
ثُمَّ يُقَالُ اِرْفَعْ مُحَمَّدُ، وَقُلْ يُسْمَعُ، وَسَلْ تُعْطَهْ، وَاشْفَعْ تُشَفَّعْ،
Then it is said: "Rise, Muhammad; say, it is heard; ask and you will be given; intercede and you will be granted intercession."
يُسْمَعُ — it is heard. Another passive verb: the hearing is granted with no stated agent, keeping attention on the response rather than on who hears. It also functions as the promised result of the preceding command, so the passive both hides the doer and frames an assured outcome of speaking.
From: Intercession on Judgment Day →ثُمَّ يُقَالُ اِرْفَعْ مُحَمَّدُ، قُلْ يُسْمَعُ، وَسَلْ تُعْطَى، وَاشْفَعْ تُشَفَّعُ،
Then it will be said: Raise Muhammad. Say: He is heard. And ask, and you will be given. And intercede, and intercession will be granted.
يُسْمَعُ — he is heard. A passive verb with no stated agent: the speech 'is heard', focus on the reception rather than the hearer. It also serves as the assured result of the preceding command to speak, the passive both hiding the doer and framing the promised outcome.
