Arabic vocabulary
How to say “power” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
الخامس أن الضمير في رجعه هو الضمير في قوله ﴿فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَلا نَاصِرٍ﴾
The fifth is that the pronoun in 'bring him back' is the same pronoun in His saying, 'So he has no strength or helper.'
قُوَّةٍ — strength. This noun 'strength' is the thing denied, genitive because of the strengthening 'from any' before it. Although it is the logical subject of 'he has no strength', that 'from' marker forces its genitive ending, the Arabic way to say 'not a bit of strength'.
