How to say “reach” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ولا يُشترط إيصالُ الترابِ إلى منابتِ الشعورِ الدقيقة، لكن يُوصَلُ إلى ظاهرِ ما استرسلَ من اللحيةِ
It is not required to apply dust to the roots of the fine hairs, but it should reach the apparent part of the beard.
يُوصَلُ — it should reach. A passive verb, 'is made to reach,' doer unnamed — one must get it there. Affirmative now, against the earlier negation: the dust IS to be conveyed to the part named next. Vowels inside carry the passive.
