How to say “refute” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قُلْتُ لَهُ وَلَا يَنْتَقِضُ هَذَا بِالْمُلُوكِ الظَّلَمَةِ الَّذِينَ مَكَّنَهُمُ اللَّهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَقْتًا مَا
I said to him, 'This is not refuted by the oppressive kings whom God empowered on the earth for a period of time.'
يَنْتَقِضُ — is refuted. This present-tense verb is in a pattern meaning to be broken down or refuted, with its 'it' subject built in. Under the negation before it, the sense is that this is not invalidated; the reflexive pattern gives 'comes undone'.
