أو أرجعه إلى منزله الذي خرج منه بما نال من أجر،
or bringing him back to his home from which he departed with what he has gained of reward,
أَجْرٍ — reward. This indefinite noun, 'reward', is the object of the preceding 'of', taking that form. Its indefinite ending fits the open 'whatever reward' sense; it names the spiritual recompense gained.
