فَقَالَ تَعَالَىٰ وَاسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلَاةِ وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِيرَةٌ إِلَّا عَلَى الْخَاشِعِينَ
And the Exalted said, Seek help through patience and prayer; indeed, it is a great burden except for the humble.
وَاسْتَعِينُوا — and seek help. wa- opens the quotation and the verb is a plural command ('seek help!'), addressed to a group. The conjunction links the order into the quoted speech, and the plural is built into the verb's ending.
