Arabic vocabulary
How to say “significant” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَهَذَا يتَعَلَّق بِهِ أُمُور جليلة قد بسطناها وشرحناها فِي غير هَذَا الْموضع
And concerning this, there are significant matters that we have expanded upon and explained elsewhere.
جَلِيلَةٌ — significant. This is an adjective describing the matters, agreeing with that noun in being indefinite and in its subject ending, as Arabic adjectives must match their noun. So it attaches as a quality, 'weighty matters', mirroring the noun's form.
