Arabic vocabulary
How to say “so” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِ عَائِشَةِ،
So when the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was in the house of Aisha,
حَتَّىٰ — so. Here this particle teams with the 'when' word right after it to open a narrative 'so when' frame; it is steering the storyline to a turning point rather than marking a goal. Its job is to set up the circumstance whose outcome the sentence then delivers.
