How to say “succeed” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَإِن حفظته مَعَ إصْلَاح الْوَقْتَيْنِ اللَّذين قبله وَبعده بِمَا ذكرت نجوت وفزت بالراحة واللذة وَالنَّعِيم
And if you preserve it, along with correcting the periods before and after as I mentioned, you succeed and attain comfort, pleasure, and bliss.
نَجَوْتَ — you succeed. The condition's answer: 'you are saved'. The '-ta' is 'you', and a past-form verb again does duty as the 'then...' result. From a root ending in a weak letter, it shows a long vowel before the ending.
