And their saying: 'Moderation is the best remedy' is mentioned in His saying: 'And eat and drink, but be not excessive.'
وَاشْرَبُوا — and drink. This is 'and' joined to a plural command 'drink (you all)', the plural-you ending marking it as aimed at a group. The 'and' chains this order to the previous one. It continues the verse's run of imperatives.
From: When Scripture Answers Proverbs →
He said, 'And eat and drink, but do not be excessive.'
وَاشْرَبُوا — and drink. The 'wa-' adds a second command 'and drink!', also addressed to a group with the plural ending. Like the first, it is an order with 'you all' carried inside the verb.
