Arabic vocabulary
How to say “truth” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
كَمَا قَالَ بَعْضُ السَّلَفِ عَلَيْكَ بِطَرِيقِ الْحَقِّ،
As some of the early predecessors said, adhere to the path of truth.
الْحَقِّ — the truth. This definite noun completes the 'of' pairing with 'path' before it: 'the path of truth'. As the owned half it takes the genitive ending, and its al- (assimilating into the sun letter) marks 'the truth' as the specific, absolute one. The two nouns sit directly together, the bare juxtaposition carrying 'of'.

The first of their punishments is that they turn away from the truth, becoming preoccupied with people.
الْحَقِّ — the truth. The al- marks this as definite, 'the truth' as a known absolute rather than just any truth. Governed by the 'away from' just before it, it takes the 'of' (genitive) ending, marking it as the very thing being turned away from.
