Arabic vocabulary
How to say “we set out” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قَالَ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى خَيْبَرَ
He said, "We set out with the Messenger of Allah to Khaybar."
خَرَجْنَا — we set out. A finished-action verb carrying its subject inside it: the -na ending fixes the doers as 'we', so no separate pronoun is needed. That built-in plural subject is the key fact, and the verb launches the narrator's account of the journey.
