He said, "We set out with the Messenger of Allah to Khaybar."
Khaybar. A place-name standing as the destination after the 'to' preposition; it takes the genitive role that preposition assigns. It names the endpoint the journey aimed at.
From: The Martyr's Reward →
He said, "Then we came to Khaybar and besieged them."
خَيْبَرَ — Khaybar. A place-name standing as the destination reached; here it is the goal of the coming, the endpoint arrived at. As a place-name it takes a fixed shape rather than the usual case-vowels, but its role is the arrival point.
