  And a trial will come, and the believer will say: 'This is my destruction,' then it will pass;

  فَيَقُولُ — and will say. This is fa- (so/then) on a present-tense verb, 'so he says', with 'he' built in. The fa- chains this as the believer's reaction to the trial just arriving; the present form keeps the scene vivid.
