How to say “abode” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقَالَ تَعَالَى إِنَّهُ مَنْ يُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ فَقَدْ حَرَّمَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَأْوَاهُ النَّارُ
And He said: 'Indeed, whoever associates partners with Allah, Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and his abode is the Fire.'
وَمَأْوَاهُ — and his abode. A fused 'and' plus a noun, 'and his abode', with a possessor on its end pointing back to the wrongdoer. It is the subject of a verbless statement whose predicate, the Fire, follows.
