Arabic vocabulary
How to say “affirmation” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
ولكن هو لم يجره ولم تجر به العادة ولا هو مما تكلم الناس فيه نفيًا أو إثباتًا
But it has not occurred, nor is it customary, and it is not something people have discussed, either in negation or affirmation.
إِثْبَاتًا — affirmation. This joins the noun 'affirmation' in the object-style ending used adverbially, 'by way of affirming', parallel to 'denying'. Arabic uses this object ending to mark the manner; it completes the 'neither denying nor affirming' pairing.
From: Ten Proofs of Resurrection →مد الأرض وأثبتها بالجبال إثباتا،
He spread out the earth and firmly anchored it with mountains,
إِثْبَاتًا — firmly. This noun is in the accusative as an emphasizing echo of the verb, a built-in 'firmly indeed' that repeats the verb's own idea to drive it home. Arabic stresses an action this way by following it with a related accusative noun, so it means He anchored the earth with full firmness.
