How to say “ambiguous” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقَالَ النَّبِي الْحَلَال بَين وَالْحرَام بَين وَبَين ذَلِك امور مُشْتَبهَات لَا يعلمهُنَّ كثير من النَّاس
The Prophet said, 'The lawful is clear, and the unlawful is clear, and between them are ambiguous matters that many people do not know.'
مُشْتَبِهَاتٌ — ambiguous. This is an adjective describing the matters, agreeing with that noun in being indefinite and in its subject ending, as Arabic adjectives must match their noun. So it attaches as a quality, 'doubtful matters', mirroring the noun's form.
