How to say “chest” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
التقوى ههنا، ويشير إلى صدره بحسب امرئ من الشر أن يحقر أخاه المسلم،
Taqwa is here, 'and he pointed to his chest.' It is enough of a sin for a person to belittle his Muslim brother.
صَدْرِهِ — his chest. This is 'chest' with the attached 'his' marking the possessor, so one word means 'his chest', and it sits in the form the preceding preposition requires. The suffix points back to the one doing the pointing; the possessor is fused onto the end of the noun rather than written separately.
