Arabic vocabulary
How to say “disliked” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
كَمَا أَن العابد الزَّاهِد قد يكون لما فِي قلبه من بِدعَة ونفاق مسخوطا عِنْد الله وَرَسُوله
Just as a devout worshipper may, because of the innovation and hypocrisy in his heart, be disliked by Allah and His Messenger.
مَسْخُوطًا — disliked. This is the passive participle 'disliked', describing the state of being on the receiving end of dislike, with God as the unstated one who dislikes. Its accusative ending marks it as the complement of the earlier being-verb, the state the worshipper may end up in.
