How to say “habit” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وآخر منهم إن حضر في ختمة أو تلا في محراب جعل ديدنه إحضار غرائب الوجوه والسكت،
Another of them, when present at a completion or when reciting in the prayer niche, made it his habit to produce strange facial expressions and to remain silent.
دَيْدَنُهُ — his habit. A noun 'habit/wont' with 'his' attached, naming what was made his routine. The attached possessor points back to the person in the condition, so it is his own habit. The suffix supplies 'his' directly, and the noun serves as what the passive 'was made' turns the behaviour into.
