How to say “handshake” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
ومن بايع إماماً فأعطاه صفقة يده، وثمرة قلبه، فليطعه إن استطاع،

صَفْقَةَ — a handshake. This noun, 'the clasp/deal of', is the object of 'gave' and the first half of a pairing with 'his hand' that follows, 'the clasp of his hand'. The two nouns sit side by side to mean 'of', with no linking word; the whole stands for a handshake sealing the pledge.
From: A Prophet Warns His People →لَكَانَتْ صَفْقَةٌ رَابِحَةً، وَالْوَجْهَةُ الْمُفَلِّجَةُ النَّاجِحَةُ
It would have been a winning deal, and the fortunate, successful destination.
صَفْقَةٌ — a deal. An indefinite noun (carrying the -un tanwin, not al-) that is the subject of the 'would have been' verb. Its nominative ending marks it as the doer-of-being, and its indefiniteness presents the deal as something newly raised.
