Arabic vocabulary
How to say “his companion” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلِيَعْلَمَ أَنَّ رَفِيقَهُ فِي هَذَا الصِّرَاطِ هُمْ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ،
And let him know that his companions on this path are those whom God has favored.
رَفِيقَهُ — his companion. A noun ('companion') carrying the attached -hu ('his'), and it serves as the subject of the heavy 'that' just before it, which is why it takes the object-style ending those particles impose on their subject. Though singular in form, the sentence treats it as standing for the whole favoured company, so the predicate that follows is plural. The possessor ties it to the seeker.
