How to say “interpretation” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَحْسَنُ تَأْوِيلًا﴾ النساء ٥٩ سورة النساء آية ٥٩
Refer the matter to Allah and the Messenger if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and best in final interpretation. Chapter The Women, verse 59.
تَأْوِيلًا — interpretation. A verb-derived noun, 'interpretation / outcome', in the accusative as a specifier: it narrows in what respect something is 'better', i.e. 'better as to outcome'. This accusative-of-respect is how Arabic says 'better in X'.
