الجَمْعَ — reconciling. 'the combining, joining', accusative object of 'entails', head of a 'between' phrase.

الْجَمْعُ — to combine. An action-noun, 'the combining / joining,' the subject of 'is permitted' (closing on -u). It is what is allowed: gathering more than one act under a single tayammum, defined by 'between' next.

As for combining two obligatory prayers, it is not permissible.
الْجَمْعُ — combining. The action-noun 'the combining,' the fronted topic (closing on -u). 'between' next names what is combined; this time it is two obligatory prayers, which changes the ruling.

As for the funeral prayer, its ruling regarding combining is closer to optional prayers.
الْجَمْعِ — combining. An action-noun, 'the combining,' in the -i form after 'regarding.' The funeral prayer's ruling ON COMBINING — not in general — is what is being placed.

'Bites' is the plural of 'bite', which is a morsel.
جَمْعُ — plural of. This is the front half of 'plural of mouthful', a possessive pairing, and the predicate identifying what 'mouthfuls' is. It draws its definiteness from the owner that follows.

جَمْعِ — gathering of. A verbal noun 'gathering-of' — an action captured as a noun — that is the first half of an 'of' possessive pair and waits for its owner-noun. 'Gathering of …' is built by bare adjacency, with the verbal noun governing what it gathers.
