أخبرنا أبو نعيم أحمد بن عبد الله قال
Abu Nu`aim Ahmad bin Abdullah informed us, saying,
نُعَيْمٍ — Nu`aim. The name completing the teknonym begun by the previous word; the two together form one 'father-of-X' title. Its ending shows it is the owned half of that possessive pair, the name that the 'father of' reaches forward to claim.

When you looked into the book 'Adornment of the Saints' by Abu Nu'aym al-Isfahani, you were impressed by the mention of the righteous and the virtuous.
نُعَيْمٍ — Nu'aym. The name completing the 'father of' title before it; the two read as one by-name for the author. Its ending reflects that the earlier 'for / by' governs the whole title and that it is the owned half of the teknonym.
