How to say “panels” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ثم قال والذي نفسي بيده إن ما بين المصراعين من مصاريع الجنة كما بين مكة وهجر، أو كما بين مكة وبصرى
Then he said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, indeed, the distance between the two panels of the gates of Paradise is as between Mecca and Hajar, or as between Mecca and Busra."
الْمِصْرَاعَيْنِ — the two panels. A dual noun, Arabic's dedicated 'exactly two' form: the ending itself carries 'two panels', so no separate word for 'two' is needed; it also takes the form 'between' governs. The count rides on the word's shape.
