How to say “remaining” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَالْحِزْبُ الْآخَرُ أُمُّ سَلَمَةُ وَسَائِرُ نِسَاءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،
And the other group was Umm Salama and the remaining wives of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
وَسَائِرُ — and the remaining. The wa- here is a joining 'and' that adds a further group to the list, glued to a noun meaning 'the rest of'. The prefix chains the clause on, and the noun it sits on heads a possessive pairing meaning 'the remaining ones of the wives'.
