Arabic vocabulary
How to say “sincerity” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
هكذا يلتقي أصلان إخلاصُ العبادةِ لله وحده، واتباعُ الرسولِ فيما شرع
This is how two roots meet: the sincerity of worship for Allah alone and following the Messenger in what he has prescribed.
إِخْلَاصُ — the sincerity. 'the sincere devoting of', nominative, spelling out the first root in apposition, and head of an 'of' pairing with 'worship' — 'the sincerity OF worship'.
From: Remembrance That Reshapes the Heart →الأعمال تُجسّد صلاةٌ بإخلاص تصبح ثقيلةً هادئة،
Deeds take form: a sincere prayer becomes heavy and calm,
بِإِخْلَاصٍ — with sincerity. 'with sincerity' — 'bi' of manner plus an indefinite genitive; how the prayer is done.
From: When Hidden Deeds Are Shown →الأولى ترك الصلاة وهي عمود الإخلاص للمعبود
The first is abandoning prayer, which is the pillar of devotion to the worshiped.
الْإِخْلَاصِ — of devotion. This noun carries 'the' and is owned by 'pillar' before it: the pillar of the sincerity. As the possessed half it takes the genitive ending, and it itself opens a further link with the next word about devotion's object.
From: Prayer and Charity →فلا إخلاص للخلق ولا إحسان للمخلوق
There is neither devotion to the Creator nor benevolence to the creation.
إِخْلَاصَ — devotion. This noun names sincerity and sits in the accusative because the categorical 'no' before it governs it into that form. Together they assert 'there is no sincerity at all', the noun supplying what is wholly denied.
From: Prayer and Charity →فصل وَهَذِه الْأَعْمَال الْبَاطِنَة كمحبة الله وَالْإِخْلَاص لَهُ والتوكل عَلَيْهِ وَالرِّضَا عَنهُ وَنَحْو ذَلِك كلهَا مَأْمُور بهَا فِي حق الْخَاصَّة والعامة
Section: These inner actions — such as love of Allah, sincerity to Him, reliance upon Him, and contentment with Him, and the like — are all commanded for both the elite and the common people.
وَالإِخْلَاصِ — and sincerity. A connector plus the next listed item, 'sincerity', joined to 'love of Allah'. Coordinated list-items take the same grammatical form as the first, so this sits in the owned form like the example before it.
From: Patience in Hard Times →فَلَا بُدَّ مِنْ إِخْلَاصِ النِّيَّةِ فِي الْعَمَلِ وَمُوَافَقَتِهَا لِمَرَادِ الشَّارِعِ
Sincerity of intention in action is necessary, and it must conform to the Lawgiver's intent.
إِخْلَاصِ — sincerity. An action-noun (the act of being sincere) standing as the object of 'from', so it takes the genitive after that relator. It also heads an 'of' pairing with 'the intention' next, giving 'sincerity of intention', and draws its definiteness from that completing noun.
