How to say “so not” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
إِلَى قَوْلِهِ فَلَا تَخَافُونَهُمْ وَاخْشَوْنِي إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ
To His saying, "So do not fear them, but fear Me if you are believers."
فَلَا — so not. This token fuses a leading 'so' connector with a negation particle, meaning 'so do not'. The 'so' links the command to what precedes; the negation paired with the following present verb turns it into a prohibition, a 'do not' order. Together they forbid the action that comes next.
From: Trust and Piety →فَلَّا يَكْتَرِثُ بِمُخَالَفَةِ النَّاكِبِينَ عَنْهُ لَهُ،
So he does not care about the opposition of those who turn away from him to him.
فَلَّا — so not. A two-part word: the leading fa- draws the consequence ('and so'), and what follows is the negator for the present tense ('does not'). The fa- ties this result to the preceding cause, while the negation cancels the verb after it. Together they set up 'so he does not care', flagging a logical outcome rather than a plain 'and'.
