Arabic vocabulary
How to say “speak to” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقُلْنَ لِهَا كَلِّمِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُكَلِّمُ النَّاسَ،
So they said to her, "Speak to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace; he addresses the people."
كَلِّمِي — speak to. A command form of the dialogue pattern, shaped for a single female listener, telling her to speak; the feminine command-ending marks who is being ordered. It opens the quoted instruction and takes the Messenger named after it as its target.
