فَأَضَافَ الصِّرَاطَ إِلَى الرَّفِيقِ الْسَالِكِينَ لَهُ،
He then added the path to the companion who traverses it,
الرَّفِيقِ — the companion. Governed by the preceding 'to', this noun takes the genitive ending and names the endpoint of the attaching. Its al- ('the') is pronounced by assimilating into the following sound (a 'sun letter'), which is why the spoken form doubles that consonant even though the article is written. A describing word follows that will pin down which companion is meant.

And the point is that mentioning this companion removes the feeling of being alone.
الرَّفِيقِ — the companion. This definite noun completes the 'of' pairing with 'mention' before it: 'the mention of this companion'. As the owned half it takes the genitive ending, and the demonstrative plus al- fix it as the specific companion. The bare juxtaposition carries the 'of'.
