And there is a subtle point in describing deeds as secret: deeds are the results of inward states.
الأَعْمَالَ — the deeds. This definite plural noun is the subject of the 'that...' clause, and the emphatic 'that' is exactly why its ending takes the accusative rather than the usual subject shape. Recognising that the governing particle forces this case is the key to parsing the clause correctly.
