How to say “the standing supplication” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَهَذِهِ إِحْدَى الْفَوَائِدِ فِي دُعَاءِ الْقُنُوتِ اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي فِيمَنْ هَدَيْتَ أَيْ أَدْخِلْنِي فِي هَذِهِ الزُّمَرَةِ،
And this is one of the benefits in the standing supplication: O Allah, guide me among those You have guided, that is, admit me into this group.
الْقُنُوتِ — the standing supplication. This definite noun completes the 'of' pairing with 'supplication' before it: 'the supplication of the standing (devotion)', a named prayer. As the owned half it takes the genitive ending, its al- marking the specific rite. The bare juxtaposition carries the 'of'.
