Arabic vocabulary
How to say “truthful” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
كَانَ أَوَّلُ مَا بُدِئَ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الرُّؤْيَا الصَّادِقَةَ فِي النَّوْمِ،
The first thing the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, experienced was the truthful dream during sleep.
الصَّادِقَةَ — truthful. An adjective that matches its noun, the dream, in gender, definiteness and case all at once, which is how Arabic shows that a describer belongs to a particular noun. That fourfold agreement is the glue tying 'truthful' to 'the dream' rather than to anything else nearby.
