  If one experiences an impurity after taking the dust but before wiping the face, the taking is invalidated, and he must take it again.

  مَسْحِ — wiping. An action-noun, 'wiping,' in the -i form owned by 'before,' heading 'of the face.' It marks the later bound — wiping the face had not yet happened when purity broke.
