وَإِن المدل لَا يصعد عمله فَوق رَأسه
Indeed, the boastful person's deeds do not rise above his head.
فَوْقَ — above. This 'above', an adverb fixed in the accusative, itself governs the following noun in the genitive. It measures the (failed) height: not even 'above his head'.
