How to say “Aisha” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
روي في الخبر أن عائشة رضي الله عنها سمعت الحسن يتكلم،
It is reported in the narration that Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, heard Al-Hasan speak,
عَائِشَةَ — Aisha. Although she is the doer of the coming clause, the preceding 'that' particle forces her name into the object form. Even a definite proper name takes this case-shift after the particle.
From: Raised in the Prophet’s Household →قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةِ
He said, "I entered upon Aisha."
عَائِشَةَ — Aisha. A feminine proper name standing as the object of the preceding 'upon', hence in the genitive. It names the person entered upon.
From: Prayer During Illness →لِأَنَّ اِبْنَتَهُ عَائِشَةَ كَانَتْ تَحْتَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،
Because his daughter Aisha was in the household of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace,
عَائِشَةَ — Aisha. A proper name, 'Aisha', in apposition to 'his daughter' — a second naming of the same person — and matching it in case. The apposition pins down exactly which daughter is meant.
