How to say “light” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقَالَ تَعَالَى الْبَقَرَة الله ولي الَّذين آمنُوا يخرجهم من الظُّلُمَات إِلَى النُّور
And the Exalted said (in Sūrah al‑Baqarah): “Allah is the guardian (walī) of those who have believed; He brings them out from the darknesses into the light.”
النُّورِ — the light. Definite noun, 'the light', governed by the goal preposition into the owned form. The 'the' marks the known metaphor of guidance; it names where the believers are brought.
