  And the Exalted said (in Sūrah al‑Baqarah): “Allah is the guardian (walī) of those who have believed; He brings them out from the darknesses into the light.”

  الَّذِينَ — those who. A relative pronoun, 'those who', the owner completing 'guardian of those who...'. It introduces the clause naming the believers as the ones guarded.
