Arabic vocabulary
How to say “perfume oneself” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ترى الناس في يوم العيد يلبسون الجديد، ويتطيبون، ويخرجون إلى المصلى فرحين مسرورين
You see people on the day of Eid wearing new clothes, perfuming themselves, and going out to the prayer area happy and joyful.
وَيَتَطَيَّبُونَ — and they perfume themselves. The wa- adds another action, and the verb means 'they perfume themselves', with plural 'they' built in. The verb's pattern carries a reflexive sense, the doers acting on themselves, so no separate 'themselves' word is needed.
