How to say “prayer place” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ترى الناس في يوم العيد يلبسون الجديد، ويتطيبون، ويخرجون إلى المصلى فرحين مسرورين
You see people on the day of Eid wearing new clothes, perfuming themselves, and going out to the prayer area happy and joyful.
الْمُصَلَّى — the prayer area. The object of 'to', so it stands in the possessive case, with 'the' marking the known prayer ground. Its final weak letter gives it a fixed ending that does not show the usual case mark, but its job is the destination.
