How to say “recite” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَمَا اجْتَمَعَ قَوْمٌ فِي بَيْتٍ مِنْ بُيُوتِ اللَّهِ يَتْلُونَ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ، وَيَتَدَارَسُونَهُ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُمْ؛
No people gather in one of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it among themselves;
يَتْلُونَ — they recite. A present verb, 'they recite, read aloud', the plural 'they' carried in its ending. It opens a state-clause describing the gathered people: 'reciting...' as they sit together.
