How to say “see” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
وإذا رآه في أثناء صلاةٍ لا تُغني عن القضاء كصلاةِ حاضرٍ، بطلت على الأصح
If one sees water during a prayer that does not exempt from making it up, like the prayer of a resident, the prayer is invalid according to the more correct opinion.
رَآهُ — they see it. 'he sees it,' with '-hu' as object — 'it' being the water, carried over from before. Under 'when,' the past reads as a present case: he catches sight of water mid-prayer.
From: When Earth Replaces Water →فَرَآهُ عَلِيُّ فَعَرَفَ أَنَّهُ غَرِيبٌ
Then Ali saw him and realized that he was a stranger.
فَرَآهُ — then saw him. Led by fa-, the tight connector chaining this sighting onto the prior delay. The past verb carries its 'he' subject and the attached 'him' as object, so one word names the seeing, the seer, and the seen.
